AD-net Technology Co., LTD introduces new GEPONlite series for high speed PON (Passive Optical Networks) design.
In brief, A passive optical network (PON) is a point-to-multipoint, fiber to the premises network architecture in which unpowered optical splitters are used to enable a single optical fiber to serve multiple premises, typically 32. A PON consists of an Optical Line Termination (OLT) at the service provider’s central office and a number of Optical Network Units (ONUs) near end users. A PON configuration reduces the amount of fiber and central office equipment required compared with point to point architectures.
So, what you basically get by choosing AD-net FTTH GEPON platform is: – Easy & fast to deploy Fiber-To-Home platform – you no need any electricity in middle, like it was in old type fiber media converters fiber network design, the only place where the electricity will be needed, is at customers home, and also in a center, where OLT stands.
– In middle there is just a passive optical splitter – you may place it anywhere in building, and you can choose split ratios from 1:2 till 1:64 – once the splitter is placed into the condominium – you can forget it, and when customer calls asking provide a service – you come to his flat and install the ONU, and you no need do anything in center.
– Even if you need expand network from this point further – no problem, attach one one splitter to existing splitter and make a tree topology of your network, without any limits – try do this with old media converters approach;
What’s, important in AD-net’s offered GEPONlite platform – it offers not only cost effective solution with 2 type ONU’s – ONU0001-02, which supports 24 ports Ethernet interfaces and can be used for FTTB – Fiber To The Business applications, and also ONU0002-02 – 2 ports Fast Ethernet cost effective FTTH – Fiber to The Home unit.Also, AD-net has been expanded not only a pay-ad-you-grow concept to ONU’s – same is applicable to OLT’s – AD-net’s CC65100-04 by default has 1 PON uplink and 4 universal slots, which gives you oportunity add modules when you need, and so save on CAPEX.
